The Royal Marine Hotel is looking for a Graduate / Trainee Duty Manager to be part of the team. Hospitality Graduates will have the chance to work in various departments, gaining knowledge and experience in different hotel operations including duty management.

Under the guidance of the Hotel Manager, the Trainee Duty Manager will be responsible for overseeing key hotel functions and providing support to the Heads of Department.

We need a highly motivated individual with strong interpersonal skills, drive, and ambition to be part of the Management Team. Attention to detail, decision-making skills, and the ability to think on your feet are essential. A solid understanding of hotel operations and the capability to work independently are required.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in food and beverage outlets, possess outstanding customer service skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to collaborate with a team.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day hotel operations.
  • Ensure consistent quality and standards.
  • Proactively anticipate and meet guest needs.
  • Support the management of daily operations to ensure exceptional guest service.
  • Have comprehensive knowledge of the hotel and its departments.
  • Assist Heads of Departments in supervising staff to maintain standards.
  • Handle issues professionally and ensure resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations.

Experience/Qualifications:

  • Extensive knowledge of Front Office and Food & Beverage procedures.
  • Experience with management systems like Hotsoft.
  • Understanding of cash management and accounting.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts and hospitality or management qualifications are a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong commercial and business acumen.
