Job Title:
Network Automation Engineer

Location:
Dublin, Ireland

Experience driving progress, solving problems, and mentoring more junior team members; deeper expertise and applied knowledge within relevant area.

Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Network Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
3 years of experience in optical transport network (DWDM and OTN) or IP backbone.
Experience in software development.

Preferred qualifications:
Experience coding in Go or Python.
Experience creating requirement and design documents for scalable and complex software services and frameworks.
Expertise in developing and maintaining software services, tools, and automation frameworks that programatically analyze and troubleshoot global-scale core networks (e.g. IP backbone and optical network) and their supporting systems.

Knowledge of IP backbone (e.g., routing protocols, IP addressing, management and control planes, etc.) and optical networks (e.g., DWDM, OTN, coherent transceiver, etc.).

Ability to write SQL scripts and query complex data structures to retrieve network and process diagnostic information.

You also ensure that network operations are safe and efficient by monitoring network performance, coordinating planned maintenance, adjusting hardware components and responding to network connectivity issues.

Responsibilities include automating the lifecycle of the Google global core network repair, partnering with software engineering teams to innovate repair-focused software systems, supporting and maintaining NRE software services, and adopting new technology for solutions to enable repair evolution of the global core network.
