ABOUT THE TEAM:

The Networking Technology and Solution IP Group at AMD is expanding its Data Centre design team in Belfast. Our focus spans IP development, encompassing the entire design cycle, from architecture and algorithm design to RTL design, test planning, firmware implementation, verification, and end-to-end validation. We have the satisfaction of witnessing the tangible outcomes of our efforts in actual products. We are a team that actively seeks out diverse and complex problems in our daily tasks. THE ROLE:

In this impactful role, the ideal candidate should demonstrate previous success in a similar technical position within a product team dedicated to revolutionizing high-performance computing and networking applications. The individual must thrive in a collaborative work environment, showcasing creativity and self-drive in their career path. The primary focus of this role is to strategize, design, and validate new and existing features for AMD's IP portfolio.

You should have experience as a technical design leader on projects that transcend project and departmental boundaries, with a proven history of continuous innovation. Possess strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, embracing a learning mindset and being prepared to tackle challenges head-on.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with architects, hardware, firmware, and verification engineers to comprehend and implement new features
  • Create test plan documentation considering interactions with other features, hardware, firmware, and software driver use cases
  • Strategize, design, and validate new and existing IP and features
  • Troubleshoot test failures to identify the root cause; partner with Verification and firmware engineers to rectify design flaws and address any test issues
  • Assess functional and code coverage metrics - adjust or introduce tests or restrict random tests to meet coverage prerequisites

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Seasoned in ASIC and FPGA design
  • Proficient in debugging firmware and RTL code utilizing simulation tools
  • Skilled in Verilog/System Verilog/VHDL, C, and C++
  • Experience with UVM test benches, working in Linux and Windows environments
  • Familiarity with UVM-based verification frameworks and test benches, processes, and workflows
  • Competence in automating workflows within a distributed compute environment
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Perl, Ruby, Makefile, and shell scripting (preferred)
  • Exposure to leadership or mentorship is advantageous
  • Background in other areas of heterogeneous computing, including smart networking, is a plus
