My client a market leader in knowledge services to the financial services and global investment banking sector are seeking an Assistant Accountant to join their Finance team on a full-time permanent contract.

Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, suitable candidates will have experience working in a similar role in a fast-paced environment. This role will provide essential support across a range of Finance activities.

CORE DUTIES INCLUDE:

· Responsible for revenue recognition and relevant accounting journals. Ensure that all monthly transactions are accurately recorded and update revenue tracking sheets with the same.

· Provide analytical review of revenue movements. Resolve any queries relating to revenue figures.

· Preparing calculations for incentive/commission scheme, maintaining excellent excel based records of the same. Ensuring company policy is strictly applied.

· Review contracts and invoices from both a revenue and commission perspective.

· Responsibility for VAT, VIES and other sales tax returns

  • Balance sheet reconciliations

· Supporting the Finance Manager in the delivery of timely and accurate monthly management accounts

· Assisting with yearend audit preparation

  • Providing assistance to other key roles within the Finance team where required

SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

· Ideally 2-3 years' experience in a similar role

· Commenced professional exams

· Strong excel skills

· Ability to learn quickly and work on own initiative

· Ability to work well with other teams within the organisation

· Have the ability to be accurate and thorough when completing all tasks

· Be able to work with sensitive information and maintain confidentiality at all times

· Have excellent organisational skills to maintain tight deadlines

· Ability to adapt to a variety of tasks

· Have excellent verbal and written English

· VAT knowledge an advantage
