Desktop Support Engineer in Waterford18th April, 2024About the Role:
As a Desktop Support Engineer in Waterford, your main responsibility will be handling technical issues escalated from the helpdesk. You will work with end users to troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity problems, as well as support the business on project-based requirements and IMACS.
  • Respond to basic customer incidents and service requests passed by the client service desk.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose faults on network, hardware, and infrastructure incidents.
  • Provide timely updates to the client service desk on incident progress.
  • Escalate issues requiring more expertise in a timely manner.
  • Carry out proactive checks to identify and resolve issues.
  • Rotational schedule: 5 days on, 2 off (09:00am to 17:00pm)
Requirements for the Role:
  • 1-2 years' experience in IT support.
  • Good knowledge of latest technologies and solutions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows Desktop software.
  • Familiarity with network protocols, server hardware, and configurations.
  • 3-5 years of Irish working history.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and adapt.
Physical Requirements:
  • Able to lift or push 20-40 kilograms of equipment.
  • Able to stand or kneel for extended periods.
  • Proficient in using mechanical tools.
