Your Role:
An exciting opportunity has become available for an Oracle Database Administrator. We are seeking candidates who have a track record in the design, delivery and support of Oracle Infrastructure. This role will be integral to the support of the Oracle Infrastructure we have within the bank. Oracle underpins many of our critical services and is a key technology within the bank.

This is a cross functional role requiring the individual to work seamlessly and collaboratively across the Enterprise IT Services function, Group Technology as a whole, and the wider business to achieve the required outcomes.


Your Team:

The Oracle Database Administrator will work within The Database Infrastructure Team which is part of the broader Enterprise IT Services.

This team is responsible design, architecture and management for all of the organisations database workloads. You will work as part of an innovation focused and committed team.

The Oracle Database Administrator will be part of the team defining the operating standards for Oracle Workloads and shaping the deployments of this into High Availability Solutions.

The role holder be part of an engaged and empowered team who execute their activities to a high standard, and work seamlessly with all business and technical teams to support the organisations transformational and resilience objectives.


Your Responsibilities:

Functional Strategy & Delivery Support the development of Oracle Workloads across the organisations with a focus on ensuring the resilience of stability of production IT systems and customer-facing services Maintain the ongoing service and cyber security integrity of the in-scope technologies including patch and Vulnerability machine within the Oracle Platforms Drive the delivery of resilient solutions with high availability Oracle deployments Leverage available tooling to simplify and streamline the delivery of IT change while developing and promoting appropriate risk mitigating techniques for colleagues.

Act as the line of support between the business teams and Oracle Support when troubleshooting issues Liaise with project teams, change management office, and technical and production support teams to manage implementations.

Drive the automation first strategy within Enterprise IT Services eliminating repetitive tasks and enabling the focus on higher value activities.

Support the design and delivery of an Oracle Cloud @ Customer deployment migrating workloads from traditional Database Appliances Risk Management & Control Ensure a firm understanding of the risk landscape across the in scope processes Maintain the in scope control environment ensuring the controls are fit for purpose, aligned to internal standards and regulatory requirement and seek to enhance and automate where possible Drive a consistent approach to Risk Management engendering a culture of openness and continual improvement.

Record and monitor operational risk events and ensure events and incidents are closed effectively and comprehensively. Stakeholder Engagement Support development of the annual technology roadmap.

Build and maintain productive and collaborative relationships across Group Technology and other 1st Line, 2nd Line and 3rd Line teams.

Requirements Essential Extensive familiarity with Oracle with a minimum of 5 years experience as an Oracle DBA Hands on experience with Oracle Engineered Systems; ODA servers, Exadata Experience in Exadata Cloud @ Customer and the OCI Control pane.

Experience with the use DataGuard / RMAN / ASM / RAC Proven experience with Oracle Upgrades and data migrations Experience in patching, compiling, securing and resolving issues with Oracle Databases Appliances Strong knowledge on the set up, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Oracle DBs Experience of the delivery or projects that optimise the delivery of IT services.

Self-starter, highly motivated with the ability to work on own initiative Good communication and excellent problem solving skills Ability to work well with teams and build strong working relationships Innovative with a strong focus on continuously improving services Desired Experience with other Database Platforms i.e.

(MySQL, SQLServer)
