The School of Chemistry invites applications for a tenure-track position of Schuler Assistant Professor in Computational Chemistry and Artificial Intelligence. Applications are sought from candidates at an early stage in their career with proven potential for research and teaching excellence. The successful applicant will be a full member of the academic staff in the School and of the Physical, Computational and Materials Discipline. They will work with other academic staff, researchers, and students in a lively, collaborative, and international environment for research and scholarly endeavours. They will be able to avail of state-of-the-art facilities offered by the School, by the Research IT Unit (formerly, the High Performance Computing Centre), by the Centre for Research on Adaptive Nanostructures and Nanodevices (CRANN) and the Trinity Biomedical Research Institute (TBSI).

The successful candidate will be expected to contribute at all levels to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching within the Discipline and to interdisciplinary teaching, especially in areas of Computational Chemistry and Artificial Intelligence. Candidates will have a proposed research programme that complements and strengthens existing initiatives in the School of Chemistry, with preference for research in the broadly defined areas of accelerated molecular and materials design/discovery for green chemistry, sustainability and/or energy applications. The successful applicant will also have the opportunity to engage and contribute to undergoing research initiatives in the School of Chemistry and the affiliated research institutes.

Tenure Track – This position is Tenure Track positions which is 5-years in the first instance, permanency is subject to satisfying the tenure requirements.

Salary: Appointment will be made on the Lecturer Salary Scale (109BN) commensurate with qualifications / experience and in line with Public Sector Pay Policy [€41,000 to €98,564 per annum]
