We have an opportunity for a Category Manager for Trading Strategy & Operations to join the Trading team in Musgrave Wholesale Partners on a 24-month contract/secondment.
The Category Manager of Trading Strategy & Operations will be responsible for leading and developing the overall Wholesale Trading Operations Strategy.
Trading Operations is the cornerstone of the Trading Department, responsible for core process, systems and training anddevelopment of Trading colleagues.This role, based in Trading will work with key cross-functional / divisional stakeholders, to deliver brilliant end to end process' and policies ensuring an efficient, right first-time mindset across the team.
What you'll be doing:
Leadership of the day-to-day Trading Operations infrastructure, including coordination with IT to ensure current systems and processes are fit for purpose
Leading our Extended Range, Digital and data strategy
Macro and Micro range strategy, including leadership of annual range review process and Range Governance
Working with Category Managers, contribute to the day-to-day management and development of the wider Trading team to ensure that they have the skill sets, resources and support needed to achieve objectives
Leadership of the training anddevelopment of all new and existing colleagues on relevant Trading systems and policies
Commercial Governance and Compliance reporting (planning, risk management, reporting)
Working with Central Commercial and IT to develop and shape a compelling future state commercial technology proposition, that enables efficient workflows, operations and administration through automation and collaboration tools
Relationship Building
Be a key point of contact and link to all workstream leads across Wholesale business.
Support interaction with our customers, Food Service, Retail and MarketPlace
Work closely with the Wholesale management and Central Commercial Team, as well as other Musgrave businesses who can support overall strategy delivery.
Support in developing, managing, and coordinating the commercial and profitability aspect of relevant workstreams to ensure that the strategy delivers profitable sales growth for Musgrave.
Support the development of data and analytic models that allow for easy decision making and monitoring of progress.
Contribute to the success of the Wholesale division and Musgrave
Participate effectively in the Trading Leadership Team by contributing to the establishment and delivery of company direction and strategy, and the achievement of the division`s overall objectives.
Contribute to the development and implementation of the overall Trading strategy.
Provide support for Musgrave-wide initiatives in areas of expertise, as required.
Ensure that management practices remain true to the values of Musgrave.
Work cross-functionally to review all departmental plans and budgets in line with strategic objectives and foster inter-departmental co-operation.
Leadership and Talent Development
Lead and develop the Trading Operations team to ensure that they have the skill sets, resources and support needed to achieve our business objectives, and that they operate in a manner consistent with the values and guiding principles of Musgrave.
Build a sustainable, high performing, engaged team by providing clear direction, stretch targets and regular reviews to manage all levels of performance.
You will demonstrate the Musgrave leadership skills and values holding self and others accountable for meeting and exceeding objectives and maximize the potential of team members to encourage and sponsor talent to ensure succession in the division and across the organisation.
Communicate clearly and positively to engage all colleagues to ensure they understand their role in delivering the brands business objectives.
You will positively influence company culture in line with company values.
You will challenge the Trading Leadership team and actively coach and mentor team members and develop talent for the future.
What we are looking for:
Experiencein leading and delivering large scale complex programmes.
Strong interpersonal andstakeholder management skills
Experience in connecting to and working with mid and senior management positions.
Ability to engage multiple stakeholders and manage multiple commercial projects simultaneously
Previous people, change and programme/project management experience
Excellent interpersonal skills andgrowth mindset
Strategic thinking skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Degree or relevant experience
Technically advanced IT skills- Word, Excel, PowerPoint, other MS Office tools
Structured and independent way of working, including strong issue identification and hypotheses generation skills to mitigate implementation risks.
Knowledge of the Irish wholesale/retail industry a distinct advantage
