ROLE PROFILE: Responsible for overseeing the overhead line projects, from initial planning to final completion.
You will ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and meet all safety and quality standards.
This includes managing project planning, risk and change management, as well as coordinating project teams and stakeholders.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Developing OHL project plans, defining scope, setting objectives and managing timelines.
Identifying and mitigating potential risks, managing changes to the project scope and ensuring compliance with project regulations and ESB standards.
Monitoring and controlling all OHL project costs, ensuring financial compliance and managing cash flow.
Leading and motivating project teams, assigning tasks and ensuring effective communication.
Communicating with clients, stakeholders and other relevant parties to ensure project alignment and satisfaction.
Ensuring all OHL projects adhere to safety regulations and quality standards and implementing safety protocols.
Regularly monitoring project progress, identifying potential delays and reporting on project status to stakeholders.
Ensuring all OHL project documentation is complete, closing out project accounts and conducting post-project evaluations.
Interface with customers as well as internal and external resources to develop and deliver OHL projects.
Visit sites to assess OHL project requirements, meet with OHL project team/contractors, monitor work progress, safety audits, discuss engineering difficulties, etc.
Focusing on overseeing project management and delivery, ensuring safety, financial compliance, and timeliness.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: ESSENTIAL: Experience managing and delivering medium-large scale OHL projects (LV/10/20kV up to and including 400kV) throughout the full project lifecycle from initiation, specification and design, tendering, construction, energisation through to project closure A good understanding of electrical distribution plant items such as Switchgear, Protection, Power Transformers and Underground power cables Good verbal and written communication skills Good customer services skills Knowledge and experience of Health & Safety Regulations Experience of development and delivery of varied projects to deliver safely, on-time and within budget Experience in managing a variety of staff, carrying out appraisals, one to one meeting etc Experience in using IT and various IT software Full and valid Irish Driving License DESIRED: Previous experience in ESB Overhead Line Networks COMPETENCES: The ability to travel to various sites and offices within Ireland to cover the various OHL frameworks Must be able to work with a team Possess a strong history of leading project teams on OHL projects through all phases of design, construction, commission and close out Skills in programme / project management, planning and expertise in managing the design requirements and commercial budgets for OHL projects QUALIFICATIONS/TRAINING: Project Management Diploma PSCSAccreditation.
PSDP Accreditation IOSH Certificate N.B. It should also be noted that the above list of principal duties is not necessarily a complete statement of duties and should be considered as for guidance only.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: The role will require you to travel to sites across Ireland with occasional overnight stays, as and when required.
Due to the nature of our works, there may be a requirement for you to cover out of hours works i.e., weekends and on some occasions nights.
Within reason, you must be willing to cover out of hours works, where necessary.
