Job Title:Head of BiomonitoringLocation:Dun Laoghaire, DublinReports To:CEOJob Type:Full-timeAbout ZintoHeadquartered in Dublin, Ireland, Zinto is fast growing genetics services business offering Biomonitoring and Animal Genomics services to customers globally.Zinto's services help corporates, regional authorities, institutions and conservation bodies address major societal issues such as biodiversity loss and animal welfare challenges.With a fully equipped genetics laboratory and an experienced team of PhD researchers, bioinformaticians and engineers, Zinto uses advanced genomic technologies, eDNA and bioinformatics to support biodiversity monitoring and deliver insights for animal health and breeding.We are now looking for a commercial Head of our Biomonitoring Division to join our leadership team and take responsibility for driving the growth of exciting new Biomonitoring services for Zinto.Job Summary:We are seeking a dynamic Head of Biomonitoring to lead and scale growth in this newly established business unit in Zinto.This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for driving commercial growth and operational execution of innovative eDNA-based services.The ideal candidate will combine strategic thinking with commercial awareness and have a track record in business-to-business services, and/or relevant environmental sciences.The individual will have solid people skills and an ability to develop and build long lasting relationships with key clients and partners.Key Responsibilities:Business development:Build and develop a pipeline of public and private sector clients (e.g., regional authorities, corporates, environmental consultancies and research institutions).Scope client requirements and lead commercial proposals, tender submissions, solution and partnership development.Work closely with lab, field, and bioinformatics teams to maintain operational efficiency and scientific rigour and oversee delivery of high-quality biomonitoring data and reporting.Product and Service Development:Work closely with executive management and cross-functional teams to assess and develop the suite of Zinto products and services in the biodiversity monitoring space.Stay abreast of emerging complementary solutions and technical developments in the biomonitoring sector, particularly in terms of automation, IoT and AI.Develop Zinto partnerships to appropriately service key customer requirements.Commercial leadershipDevelop and manage the P&L for the Biomonitoring business unit and deliver against established business goals/objectivesAnalyse, evaluate, and overcome business risks, and produce business unit reports for managers and stakeholdersBuild and lead a high performing team in the Biomonitoring business unitDevelop and maintain a culture of excellence, with high standards of team and customer satisfaction, quality, and performanceRequired SkillsTrack record in management role, preferably in the life sciences or environmental sectors with commercial business development responsibilitiesExcellent written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate fluently and concisely to senior leadership and clientsExperience in scoping customer requirements, developing appropriate solutions and commercial contract negotiationStrong entrepreneurial mindset with ability to scale new business unitsUnderstanding of industry sustainability strategies, and current Irish/UK/EU sustainability legislation and reporting requirements.Demonstrated ability to lead teams, projects, and budgetsHonours degree, preferably (but not essentially) in life sciences or environmental sectorWillingness to travel internationally for client visits, project development, conferences etc.What We Offer:Competitive salary and benefits package.Multiple opportunities for career development in a fast-growing and entrepreneurial company.Collaborate with a passionate and multi-disciplinary team in a flexible and supportive environment· Opportunity to shape the future of biodiversity monitoring and contribute to meaningful conservation outcomesHow to Apply:Please submit your CV and cover letter detailing your experience and why you would be a great fit for this role.
