The Human Resources Lead is responsible for overseeing the effective delivery of core HR operations while contributing to broader HR initiatives aligned with Covalen's values and culture.
This role combines leadership of transactional HR activities—such as onboarding/offboarding, documentation, HR systems, compliance, and reporting—with strategic input to support the ongoing development of HR practices across multiple accounts and locations.
The HR Lead ensures HR services are delivered accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with legal and company standards, while also helping to drive continuous improvement, support business goals and new growth.
Key Responsibilities:

• Support the implementation and delivery of HR strategies across current and future accounts and locations

• Oversee the day-to-day execution of core HR functions

• Lead and develop the HR team, providing guidance, coaching, and support to ensure high performance

• Ensure HR practices align with industry compliance standards such as ISO, and other client-required frameworks

• Manage HR projects and deliverables within budget, identifying and implementing cost saving opportunities

• Support internal and external audits by preparing HR documentation and ensuring policy adherence

• Support and drive continuous improvement efforts across sites to improve organizational effectiveness and employee experience

• Coordinate the onboarding and offboarding processes for employees and clients
including TUPE, ensuring a consistent and compliant approach

• Manage and evaluate compensation structures and employee benefits to meet
organisational goals

• Lead the implementation of performance appraisal systems, coach managers on
performance issues, and ensure alignment of individual objectives with company goals

• Promote a culture of health, safety, and wellbeing in accordance with the Covalen Health & Safety Statement, ensuring policies and procedures are in place aligned with legal obligations and create a safe environment for all staff

• Develop and maintain HR policies and procedures in line with legislative changes and organizational needs

• Manage HR Systems and tools and oversee the use and optimization of HR information systems and tools to streamline HR operations and maintain accurate employee data

• Develop and implement strategies to enhance employee engagement, satisfaction, and retention including carrying out staff surveys

• Manage delivery and analysis or regular reports on key HR metrics (e.g., turnover,
absenteeism, diversity) to support strategic decision-making and continuous
improvement.

• Provide assistance, guidance and counselling to the Site Manager and internal
management team in order to maximize the quality and professionalism of
employees by listening and interpreting concerns and objectives, and seeking
solutions

• Support the design, the implementation and delivery of HR strategies across current and future accounts and locations

• Demonstrate adaptability in handling a wide range of HR activities and changing
priorities.

• Occasional travel to account locations and client sites may be required
Candidate Profile
Must have:

• Minimum 3+ years' experience in a HR Business Partner position

• Proven track record managing multiple accounts or clients across diverse industries

• Degree in HR; postgraduate HR/IR certifications are a plus

• Strong working knowledge of Irish employment laws

• Skilled in data analysis, trend recognition, and practical application

• Strong project management and end-to-end implementation skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication in English, including presentations and insights

• Demonstrated experience in team leadership, coaching, and mentoring

• Able to work independently or collaboratively, manage multiple projects, and exercise sound judgment

• Willingness to travel regularly for company and client meetings
Good to have:

• Full, clean driving license preferred

• CIPD accreditation is desirable
