JOB TITLE: Cheesemonger – Department: Cornelscourt – Location: Sheridans Cheesemongers, Cornelscourt, Dublin 18.
Full-time position.
We are looking for a new full-time cheesemonger for our counter in Dunnes Stores, Cornelscourt, Dublin 18.
No previous experience required.

Responsibilities
Learn about Sheridans Cheesemonger's products and services and educate customers accordingly.
Learn about Irish & European artisan cheese and food producers.
Be familiar with current products across dairy, deli and ambient categories; work in a fast-paced environment with tact and patience.
Provide excellent customer service, be customer-focused, and assist with queries and service.
Assist customers with use of the Sheridans website.
Receive product deliveries and organize storage in designated areas.
Describe tastes, flavours, textures, and pairings of cheese and other foods.
Maintain cheese in top condition in refrigerated and non-refrigerated environments and reduce waste.
Merchandise and display cheese and other items in the retail space.
Learn/maintain food safety standards required for a safety-inspected food environment and record maintenance of HACCP documents.
Understand allergens and navigate the Allergen Book.
Prepare and display cheese as instructed by team leaders or managers; maintain cheese signs and displays.
Display seasonal hampers when applicable.
Work with the team to ensure products are sold before expiration; stock rotation and stock control.
Report any issues to Team Leaders or Retail Managers.
Read, update, and maintain the Daily Handover Book; participate in quarterly stocktaking; daily counter maintenance.
Collect and remove rubbish and recycling as needed; perform other ad hoc duties as directed by team leaders or retail managers.
Qualifications / Experience
At least one year working in a similar retail setting or another company like Sheridans is preferable, though not essential.
Excellent knowledge of Irish and European farmhouse cheese.
HACCP trained or awareness of HACCP/Food Safety in retail.
Interest in cheese and other local, artisan foods.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
Strong conversation and listening skills; outgoing, cheerful, friendly personality.
Passion for great customer service; excellent customer service and communication skills.
Organised and calm under pressure.
Full-time availability: 5 days over 7, including weekends.
