Lead Electrical Engineer (Tendering & Estimating of HV & MV Projects)Ignite your career with PowercommAre you an experienced Electrical Engineer with a strong background in High-Voltage (HV) and Medium-Voltage (MV) systems?Are you ready to transition into a dynamic tendering role, contributing to the preparation and submission of technical and commercial proposals for major infrastructure projects?This is the unique opportunity to be part of a diversified role supporting critical infrastructure that powers cities, industries, and the future.Join esteemed team at the forefront of energy innovation, delivering complex, high impact projects that truly make a difference.About Powercomm GroupPowercomm Group is recognized as one of the leading HV and MV engineering services companies in Ireland.We deliver world-class solutions the full spectrum of electrical engineering, including design, installation, commissioning and maintenance – offering bespoke and turnkey services tailored to our client's needs.The OpportunityDue to continued growth and increasing demand, we are seeking a detail-oriented and driven professional to support our Tendering Engineering team.This role is ideal for an experienced Electrical Engineer looking to expand into tendering and commercial project development.Key Responsibilities:Review and interpret client tender documentation for high and medium voltage infrastructure projects.Develop complete and compliant technical and commercial submissions for substations including air insulated switchgear (AIS)and gas insulated switchgear (GIS), transmission lines and grid connections.Prepare cost estimates, bill of quantities, and pricing strategies based on technical scope and project risk assessment.Develop project programme and propose value engineering solutions to optimize timelines, ensuring alignment with client-defined milestones and overall schedule efficiency.Draft detailed scope of work document covering the technical deliverables and recommended value engineering approaches.Collaborate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain accurate quotations and relevant technical documentation, fostering strong working relationship..Ensure timely bid submissions and track tender progress using internal tracking systems.Participate in clarification meetings and project handover sessions with execution teams to ensure seamless transition and project understanding.Manage multiple tenders concurrently, adapting to varying submission deadlines and project requirements.Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.Minimum 5 years of experience in engineering and design for high and medium voltage infrastructure.Familiarity with utility tendering processes and full project lifecycles.Strong technical expertise in HV substation design, ranging from 10 kV to 220 kV.Experience in both primary and secondary substation design (advantageous).Knowledge of ESB and EirGrid standards and practices.(preferred but not essential).Ability to interpret basic civil engineering concepts for accurate civil pricing review.Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project) and SharePoint (Office 365).Strong understanding of utility standards and safety practices.Team player, committed to supporting and contributing to the overall team success.Ability to travel to project sites as required.Why us?Opportunity to contribute to landmark energy projects across the Island of Ireland.Comprehensive training and development opportunities within a high demand, future proof sector.An excellent workplace culture that values innovation, collaboration and safety.Commitment to sustainability as a core organisational value.Competitive salary and benefits package.Contributory pension scheme.Death in service scheme.Ready to power the future?
