Infection Prevention Nurse
Dublin
Hospital

Our client is looking to hire an Infection Prevention Nurse to join a dedicated Infection Prevention Team to deliver specialist advice, education and services within a hospital.
You should be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills and the ability to engage and motivate others, have appropriate clinical and managerial experience at ward or department level and be computer literate.
You must also have good organisational skills and be able to demonstrate you can work individually or as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Main duties of the job

• Support the provision of comprehensive infection prevention and control services to associated health care providers.

• Support, develop and implement systems to improve the quality of infection prevention and control management by the delivery of national directives to develop local quality, patient safety and safe systems of working for staff.

• Provide specialist advice on infection prevention and control practice
Essential criteria

• Significant post-registration experience

• Significant experience in infection prevention role

• Practice within guidelines and protocols to deliver high quality infection prevention service
Desirable criteria

• Infection prevention experience e.g. Link worker role/IPC Champion
Qualifications
Essential criteria

• Registered Nurse

• Evidence of continuing professional development

• Willing to undertake qualification in Infection Prevention and Control or recognised qualification in Infection Prevention and Control
Desirable criteria

• Leadership course/qualification

• Educational qualification

• Teaching/assessor/mentor qualification

• Relevant post qualifications study at degree or equivalent level
Knowledge
Essential Criteria

• Knowledge of agenda in relation to infection prevention and control and Public Health

• Infection Prevention Nurse competencies

• Excellent understanding of infection prevention and control issues

• Application of research in practice
Desirable criteria

• Leadership course/qualification
Salary 58-65k
