Job Title: Infection Prevention Specialist

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Infection Prevention Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering specialist advice, education, and services within a hospital setting.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, the ability to engage and motivate others, and appropriate clinical and managerial experience at ward or department level. They must also be computer literate and possess good organisational skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the provision of comprehensive infection prevention and control services to associated healthcare providers.
  • Develop and implement systems to improve the quality of infection prevention and control management by delivering national directives.
  • Provide specialist advice on infection prevention and control practice.
Essential Criteria
  • Significant post-registration experience in infection prevention.
  • Registration as a nurse with a relevant qualification.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.
Desirable Criteria
  • Leadership course/qualification.
  • Teaching/assessor/mentor qualification.
  • Relevant post-qualifications study at degree or equivalent level.
Knowledge
  • Knowledge of agenda in relation to infection prevention and control and public health.
  • Infection prevention nurse competencies.
  • Excellent understanding of infection prevention and control issues.
