Operational Excellence Engineer, Programmatic
We are actively seeking an Operational Excellence Engineer to drive continuous improvement initiatives and operational efficiencies across the Castlebar and Swinford sites.
This role requires a strong team player, a Lean Leader with a thorough understanding of Lean philosophy and its practical application, and highly developed communication and presentation skills.
The Engineer will work closely with stakeholders to ensure optimal performance while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
Reporting to the Operational Excellence Manager, this position involves influencing cross-functional teams and delivering operational excellence.
Responsibilities
Lead and implement continuous improvement methodologies to optimize operations and reduce waste.
Leverage data-driven insights to identify performance gaps, trends, and opportunities for improvement.
Collaborate with production, supply chain, quality, and other departments to enhance overall operational performance; work with employees at all levels to develop standards for continuous improvement.
Champion organizational change by fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Coach and mentor peers on Lean principles and other operational excellence tools.
Plan, execute, and manage operational excellence projects to ensure timely and successful delivery.
Apply a systematic approach to problem solving, root cause analysis, and implementing sustainable solutions.
Communicate progress clearly and deliver compelling presentations on operational improvements.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Science, or a related field (level 7 or higher).
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in operational excellence, process improvement, or a related field.
Strong knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
Proficiency in data analysis; experience with process mapping tools (Power BI is an advantage).
Proven leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
Preferred Experience
Experience in a manufacturing environment.
Experience leading operational improvement initiatives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
