As Ireland accelerates its transition to a low-carbon future, network regulation is central to achieving national climate objectives and the efficient transformation of Ireland's water and wastewater services.
The CRU's Network and Economic Regulation teams shape the incentives and frameworks that support and drive innovation, decarbonisation, and long-term resilience in water and wastewater infrastructure.

We are seeking candidates with experience in economics, finance, engineering, data science, public policy, legal or another relevant field to fill posts in the following area.
Duties & Responsibilities
The successful candidate(s) will be involved in a varied role, analysing complex data, providing insights to management, and working to tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
Leading and delivering on projects within the water sector as delegated by the manager;
Researching and preparing information and decision papers for the Commission;
Conducting complex qualitative and quantitative analysis for the sector-specific role;
Developing and leading presentations for internal and external stakeholders;
Managing public consultations on regulatory policy issues;
Engaging with government departments and related stakeholders to implement EU and Irish water legislation;
Procuring and managing external consultants to provide input to projects and decisions of the Commission;
Maintaining awareness of policy developments and best practice within the water industry and related industries both in Ireland and internationally;
Interacting with internal and external stakeholders in a positive manner to support CRU objectives;
Engaging with NI, GB or EU counterparts on water and wastewater developments, as required;
Mentoring Analysts and Graduate Analysts and conducting knowledge transfer sessions;
Working as a team member and leading specific project teams as required;
Carrying out other functions to fulfil CRU business objectives, as appropriate to the grade.

The successful candidate will be assigned to a particular team within the CRU but may contribute to the work of the wider Division/CRU as required.
The CRU may establish a shortlist of suitable candidates for potential future positions.
Qualifications & Skills
Essential Requirements
Candidates must have on or before the closing date for applications the following:
An honours degree, NFQ Level 8 equivalent, in a relevant discipline (including but not limited to economics, finance, engineering, science, data science, regulatory/public policy, business, accountancy, law).
Minimum of 3 years' experience working in, either:
a regulatory, legal, economic policy making, financial; or
technical analysis related to infrastructure; or
another relevant role.
The Package
Salary
Starting salary: €60,680
Salary scale: €60,680 - €76,523
Candidates should note that entry will be at the minimum point of the scale.
The rate of remuneration may be adjusted in line with Government pay policy.
Candidates should note that different pay and conditions may apply if, immediately prior to appointment, the appointee is a serving civil or public servant.
Salary increments will be awarded annually, subject to satisfactory performance.
