Overview
Procurement Manager role at Elgin.
This position focuses on procuring major construction contracts for Elgin Energy's project pipeline and coordinating with internal teams to derisk and advance projects.
What you will do
Develop the procurement plan and contracting strategy for the projects.
Ensure all suppliers and contractors have successfully completed Elgin's prequalification process.
Take ownership of Elgin's tender processes: develop tender documentation; act as single point of contact for contractor communications; coordinate the review of contractor proposals in conjunction with the wider Elgin team; prepare evaluation reports and present these to management; assist during contract negotiation to ensure a bankable agreement is reached.
Support contract implementation during construction in coordination with PMs and the wider ECM team to ensure projects are delivered in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner.
Support financial modelling optimisation with technical and commercial inputs including capex and opex forecasting.
Develop and maintain strategic relationships with contractors and suppliers, including regular commercial updates and technical workshops.
Stay abreast of latest technical industry developments and elaborate roadmaps of next generation technologies; provide internal updates to ensure these are factored in at the preliminary design stage.
Track commercial trends and provide internal guidance and updates.
Produce regular reports on supply chain developments.
Undertake site visits where required.
Your profile
Bachelor's degree in Industrial/Civil/Mechanical/Electrical/Energy Engineering or related discipline.
4/5+ years' experience working in renewable energy.
Experience in utility-scale solar PV and/or Battery Storage would be an advantage.
Track record in the procurement of construction services and/or equipment for renewable projects: utility-scale Solar PV, BESS and grid connection infrastructure preferred.
Experience in negotiating infrastructure construction and supply equipment contracts preferred.
Proficient in written and verbal communication, resource management and the use of software, particularly Microsoft Office suite.
Proactive and self-motivated attitude with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Excellent organization skills and high attention to detail.
Valid driver's license for UK & Ireland.
