Project Quantity Surveyor

This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly motivated and ambitious Project Quantity Surveyor to work side by side with a Senior Quantity Surveyor on an exciting Agri-Food infrastructure Project and join a growing team on a permanent basis.Site Based – 2 Year Project DurationDutiesManage day to day commercial and contract activities of a project lifecycle including the following:Handover from Estimating DepartmentPre-contract commencement meeting with the Project TeamGenerate project budgetsPrepare cash flow for the project based on the Contract Programme for issuing to the Employers Quantity SurveyorRe-measure packages as required to identify any quantity errors (over/under measure) and to process tender enquiries accurately and to mitigate contract risksPrepare tender enquiry packages liaising with the Contracts ManagerCreate and use procurement trackerComplete subcontract package tender analysisLead pre-appointment subcontractor meeting to ensure scope is clearly defined and appoint subcontractor in line with the company's subcontract terms and in line with the main contract conditionsValidate/remeasure and approve subcontractors' interim applications and final submissions including compliance with the Construction Contracts ActNotify Design Team of any Change Orders/Variations and track changes on the Change Order/Variation ScheduleAttend and participate in internal and external meetingsIssue and agree schedule of monthly progress application/valuation datesPrepare and submit valuations on a monthly basis and agree with Client's Quantity SurveyorPrepare monthly Cost Value Reconciliation Reports and Overall Complete Project Reports for review with Senior Quantity Surveyor/Contracts ManagersMaintain a productive relationship with all Design Team professionals and Client representatives throughout the projectEnsure the full and proper implementation of the company's commercial proceduresRequirementsThird level qualification in Quantity Surveying & Construction Economics and/or an equivalent degree recognised by the Society of Chartered Surveyors of Ireland (SCSI)3+ years of proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry with a main contractor (experience in civils and in-situ concrete frames would be an advantage)Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement methods and cost control proceduresProficiency in quantity surveying software and MS Office SuiteIn-depth knowledge and understanding of construction processes, techniques and systemsDemonstrates commercial awarenessExcellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and team membersStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detailWhat We OfferCompetitive Salary aligned with experienceBe part of MMD Construction's commitment to quality, collaboration, and community impact.Bring your technical knowledge and procurement expertise to a company that values precision, quality, and professional growth.Private Health Insurance (VHI) – after probationDeath in Service Insurance21 days annual leave + 10 public holidaysCPD and professional development sponsorship (along with paid study and exam leave - if applicable)Wellbeing and EAP (Employee Assistance Programme)Annual health screening assessmentCompany-sponsored social and charity eventsEmployee Referral Bonus SchemeWhy Join MMD Construction?Growth Opportunities: Be part of a company that can offer long-term career development and progression.Mentorship & Training: Receive on-the-job training and mentorship from experienced professionals in the industry.Innovative Projects: Work on a diverse range of projects that will help build your experience and skillset.Supportive Environment: Join a team that values collaboration and professional growth.#J-*****-Ljbffr
