OverviewIrish Cement Group is seeking to recruit a Systems Engineer - Controls & Automation to join its technical team.The successful candidate will be based in Platin Works, Co.Louth and will report to the Engineering Manager.About Irish CementIrish Cement Limited is a fully owned subsidiary of CRH plc and has manufactured cement in Ireland for over 85 years.It operates two cement-manufacturing facilities, one at Platin, approximately 5km from Drogheda, Co.Louth and a second in Castlemungret, Co.Limerick.Production uses the most advanced, energy-efficient technology to create a range of high-quality cements to the highest Irish and International standards.ResponsibilitiesThe key responsibilities of the position are to provide professional engineering services, including but not limited to:Responsibility for the Siemens PCS7 central control system for Platin Works to ensure it operates efficiently and effectively.Network Owner, responsible for all servers and control system software and communication.Design and programming of software for projects and plant modifications as required.Software modifications, fault finding, PID loop set-up and tuning, and assistance to engineers on control systems issues.Commissioning and signal checking for projects and plant modifications.Maintenance of operator stations and plant visualisation software.Coordinate the uploading of new software and upgrades where necessary.Coordinate activities with expert engineers from Control System suppliers.Requirements / QualificationsCandidates should ideally possess:A minimum of 5 years' relevant hands-on experience in industry together with a degree or similar qualification in a technical engineering related discipline.Experience of PCS7, Step 7, Simatic Manager and WinCC.Experience with Windows operating systems, security and network configuration.Experience with the following PLC programming languages: CFC, FBD and STL.Some exposure to SQL and a high-level programming language.Knowledge of system archiving/restoration and OT cyber security tools and practices.Excellent communication and relationship building skills.Proven technical skills and business acumen.The successful candidate will receive the necessary training to broaden their existing knowledge.Outstanding candidates who do not possess all of the above criteria may also be considered.About CRHThis vacancy provides an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to join the CRH group.CRH is a leading provider of building materials solutions that build, connect and improve our world.Employing 78,500 people at 3,390 operating locations in 28 countries, CRH has market leadership positions in both North America and Europe.As the essential partner for road and critical utility infrastructure, commercial building projects and outdoor living solutions, CRH's unique offering of materials and value-added services helps to deliver a more resilient and sustainable built environment.The company is ranked among sector leaders by Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) rating agencies.A Fortune 500 company, CRH's shares are listed on the NYSE and LSE.See for more information.#J-*****-Ljbffr
