This IT Test Analyst role involves working with a team of business analysts, developers, project managers, subject matter experts and product specialists based in New Ireland Assurance.
The primary responsibilities of the role include defining the business problem, scoping the business solution and helping formulate business cases for IT steering; identifying options to address the business problem and helping the business critically assess those options, including understanding the impact of a proposed change on business processes, customers and on a commercial basis; developing good working relationships with all stakeholders, including senior business stakeholders, SMEs, development teams, project managers and relevant 3rd party suppliers.
Responsibilities
Define the business problem, scope the business solution and help formulate business cases for IT steering.
Identify options to address the business problem and help the business critically assess those options, including impact on business processes, customers and commercial basis.
Develop good working relationships with stakeholders including senior business stakeholders, SMEs, development teams, project managers and 3rd party suppliers.
Create test cases using in-depth technical analysis of functional and non-functional specifications (reliability, efficiency, usability, maintainability and portability).
Create traceability records from test cases back to requirements.
Manage and produce test scripts, materials and regression test packs to test new and amended software or services.
Specify requirements for environment, data, resources and tools.
Establish and evolve formal QA processes, ensuring adherence to industry best practices.
Oversee all aspects of quality assurance, including metrics, practices and new tools/processes to meet quality goals.
Act as key contact for all QA aspects of releases, providing QA services and coordinating QA resources internally and externally.
Interpret, execute and document complex test scripts using agreed methods and standards.
Record and analyse actions and results and maintain a defect register; review test results and modify tests if necessary.
Provide reports on progress, anomalies, risks and issues associated with the project.
Provide specialist advice to support others.
Understand the software development lifecycle and different methodologies/frameworks.
Work independently with minimal supervision, and provide supervision and support to other team members as needed.
Demonstrate continuous improvement with best-practice principles and a curiosity for learning new systems and skills.
