Senior Estimator

Job Title: Senior Estimator Location: Cork / Munster (Hybrid)**Candidate must be based in Ireland** Company: Well known Contractor with offices in Dublin, Cork& the UK.
Salary: €70 - 100k (Depending on experience) Job Description: We are seeking a Senior Estimatorto join our clients dynamic team at a leading construction firm.
This hybrid role is based in Cork, offering flexibility and the opportunity to work on large-scale commercial & industrial projectsacross Ireland.
Key Responsibilities: Receive and review all tender documentation, ensuring timely circulation to the wider tender team.
Prepare and issue enquiries for sub-contractors and materials, including detailed scopes of work and attendance schedules where applicable.
Track and manage tender returns, maintaining the enquiry schedule for accuracy and visibility.
Collaborate with the tender team to raise and resolve tender queries.
Analyse tender documents to identify gaps and inconsistencies; compile clarifications and estimator notes as needed.
Prepare and maintain risk registers and opportunity assessments for each tender.
Propose and develop value engineering options to drive efficiency and cost savings.
Review and assess returned quotations from the supply chain, ensuring completeness and competitiveness.
Produce clear and comprehensive tender settlement documents, presenting net costings while highlighting key risks and opportunities.
Finalise and compile tender submissions, including the Form of Tender, Bills of Quantities, and supporting commercial documentation.
Role Scope & Sector Focus: This is ageneral contracting estimating role, focused onbuilding works from ground level up.
M&E works are subcontracted, soexperience in mechanical and electrical estimating is not required.
The successful candidate will work alongside a dedicated Civils Estimator who handles below-ground elements.
Projects typically span a wide range of sectors including Commercial, Pharmaceutical, Manufacturing, Industrial, OPW, and Blue Chip clients.
Residential projects are not a key focusof our business.
Project values range from€10 million to €180 million, offering exposure to high-value, technically complex builds.
Skills and Experience Required: Degree-qualified in a construction-related field such as Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or Construction Management.
A minimum of 6 years experience in a similar Estimating or Quantity Surveying role within a general contracting environment.
Strong analytical and numerical skills, with a high level of attention to detail.
Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with estimating software such as Conquest, Cubit, Buildsoft, or Cost X is advantageous.
Solid understanding of current construction methods, building technologies, materials, and cost trends.
Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and assess financial risk.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to challenges.
Able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a high-performing team.
Capable of delivering high-quality work under pressure and to strict deadlines.
