About this Role:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates and risk assessments for construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the tender process, including receiving and reviewing documents, and ensuring all relevant stakeholders are informed.
  • Develop and implement a scope of works and attendance schedules (where applicable) to ensure accurate costing.
  • Chase tender returns and update enquiry schedules to meet project deadlines.
  • In conjunction with the wider team, raise tender queries and clarify any discrepancies.
  • Develop and maintain a risk schedule and opportunity assessment to inform project decisions.
  • Develop a value engineering schedule to optimize project costs.
  • Complete analysis of tenders and prices as received from supply chain partners.
  • Produce documents for tender settlement and present clear nett costings identifying risks and opportunities.
  • Complete tender submission including Form of Tender, Bills of quantities & associated commercial information.

Requirements:

  • Degree Qualified in the construction field (Engineering, Quantity Surveying or Construction Technology).
  • 6+ Years' experience in a similar role i.e. Estimating or Quantity Surveying role.
  • Strong analytical and numeracy skills to accurately assess project costs.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and ideally have a working knowledge of Conquest, Cubit, Buildsoft, Costx.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of the latest construction technology processes, materials and costs.
  • Demonstrate excellent budgetary responsibility and financial management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
  • Good problem-solving skills to adapt to changing project requirements.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, meeting strict deadlines and adhering to project timelines.
