Electrical CAD Technican The successful applicant will be appointed to the role of Electrical CAD Technician.

They will provide services in areas of HV station design in a timely and cost-effective manner to facilitate delivery of capital and maintenance projects and programmes.

In this role they will provide technical support during the construction and commissioning phases of projects and must be able to understand and communicate the methodology of station control systems, protection schemes, onsite construction safety implications, and in general have good knowledge of station HV equipment and its operation.

Key Responsibilities The Planning, Scoping & Costing of projects in High voltage Substations Preparation of Preliminary health and safety documentation and Design risk assessments.

Preparation of detailed Electrical designs, including Layouts, Schematics & Wiring schedules.

Comply with safety legislation and act as a first point of contact on behalf of the PSDP Liaising and coordinating with designers in other disciplines, external contractors and design teams while maintaining commercial focus Experience with an Electrical Design GAE system such as E-Plan or Auto CAD Electrical Providing technical support throughout the HV substation lifecycle.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Essential A minimum of 18 Months electrical experience or equivalent design work experience is essential.

Proficiency and adaptability in a CAD/GAE Systems such as Micro Station, Auto CAD or Similar.

Excellent Communication Skills General Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Desirable A track record in implementing standards, policies, and quality systems to ensure optimum designs Knowledge of HV network assets and High Voltage Sub-Stations Understands and applies relevant approved Quality Management systems and standards Project Management skills Qualifications Advanced Level 6 Electrical Craft Certificate OR a suitable Level 7 or higher qualification in Electrical, Electrical Services, Electronics, Mechanical, building Services OR other suitable qualification with a sizeable electrical content Location Our client has positions available in the following locations: Donegal Sligo Galway Athlone Carlow Kilkenny Dublin Dundalk Drogheda Cavan Why work with our client?
