Senior Occupational Therapist Our client who specialises in Acute Mental Health Service is seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Occupational Therapist to join their expanding multidisciplinary team.

This is a unique opportunity to work within mental health service, delivering high-quality, recovery-oriented care in a state-of-the-art facility.

As a Senior Occupational Therapist, you will play a pivotal role in the delivery of occupational therapy interventions across secure forensic services, working with service users who experience complex mental health difficulties and require specialist, trauma-informed support.

Key Responsibilities of the Senior Occupational Therapist: Manage a complex caseload of service users with severe and enduring mental illness, often with comorbid forensic and risk profiles Deliver evidence-based occupational therapy assessments and interventions across secure inpatient units Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams including psychiatry, psychology, nursing, social work, and rehabilitation services Contribute to the development and implementation of care pathways and risk management strategies Support service users in developing functional, vocational, and social skills to facilitate recovery and reintegration Provide clinical supervision and support to junior staff, students, and assistants Participate in ongoing service development, clinical audit, and research Essential Requirements for the Senior Occupational Therapist: CORU registration as an Occupational Therapist Minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience, with at least 1 year in a mental health setting Strong understanding of recovery-focused, trauma-informed care Proven ability to work in a dynamic, secure, and multidisciplinary clinical environment Excellent clinical reasoning, communication, and documentation skills Desirable Experience: Previous experience in forensic mental health or secure psychiatric services Knowledge of structured risk assessment tools and rehabilitation models Involvement in service improvement or quality initiatives Whats on Offer: Opportunity to work in for forensic mental health A supportive and progressive MDT environment Access to structured CPD and supervision frameworks Involvement in service expansion and innovation within a new modern facility HSE terms and conditions including pension and annual leave entitlements Conveniently located in North Dublin with on-site parking and transport links Contact Us: If you or someone you know is interested in this position, please send a copy of your CV to If you refer a candidate to us who is successfully hired, we can offer you a €150 thank you bonus T&Cs apply #MEDAHP Skills: Senior Occupational Therapist Occupational Therapist OT
