
Production Manager

Job Purpose: To oversee the manufacturing process, ensuring production targets are met safely, efficiently, cost-effectively, and to the required quality standards.
The Production Manager will lead the production team, drive continuous improvement, and ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities: Plan, organise, and control production schedules to meet customer demand and delivery deadlines.
Manage day-to-day production operations, including workforce performance, machinery, and material flow.
Monitor production KPI's (output, efficiency, downtime, scrap, OEE, etc.) and implement corrective actions.
Ensure compliance with health & safety, quality, and environmental standards (ISO, Lean, 5 S, etc.).
Lead, train, and motivate the production team to achieve performance targets.
Work with supply chain, maintenance, and quality departments to ensure smooth workflow.
Drive lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and cost reduction initiatives.
Responsible for the implementation of budgets for labour, materials, and overhead costs.
Prepare reports for senior management on production performance and improvement plans.
Support new product introductions, process changes and implement improvement in mean-time-to-failure / product failure rate.
Communicate required changes to improve build and implement through the design team.
Plan service teams for installations, servicing and breakdowns.
Manage and organise logistics Interested applicants should have: Strong leadership and people management skills.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making ability.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or similar methodologies.
Good understanding of production planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
Ability to interpret production data and apply analytical thinking.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Minimum 510 years experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 3 years in a supervisory/managerial role.
Proven track record of delivering production targets and managing teams.
Experience in health & safety and quality management systems (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, etc.).
Experience in mechanical, welding or electronic manufacturing an advantage (not essential).
