Ballyowen Meadows Family Assessment Centre Ballyowen Meadows are seeking dedicated Relief Social Care Workers and Full Time Social Care Workers to join our innovated Parenting Capacity Assessment Service.

As part of the social care team, you will play a crucial role in delivering comprehensive, parenting capacity assessments.

Your responsibilities will include direct work with children and parent, conducting evidenced based observations, teaching parenting skills, supporting family relationships, household activities, administrative tasks, teamwork, ongoing professional development, and ensuring health and safety standards.

Service location: Fonthill Road, Clondalkin, Dublin 22 Contract type: Relief and Full-time roles available Work schedule: Overnight Shifts/Day Shifts Salary range: starting at €32,456 - €47,944 plus unsocial hours including double pay on Sundays/Bank Holidays Role Overview: Assist in completing individual evidence-based parenting capacity assessments in line with the Framework for Assessment of Children in Need and their Families and the Safeguarding Children Assessment and Analysis Framework.

To participate in the implementation of the 12-week placement plans for families residing in Ballyowen Meadows.

To conduct observations that are evidence based and recorded to a high standard in line with the center policies and procedures.

Plan and deliver intervention programmes as appropriate to the role e.g.

HOPE Modules, Family Assessment tools (interview, tasks, scales, questionnaires)and support programmes that promote the basic care, safety and developmental wellbeing of children and young people in the care of their parents.

To plan and undertake one to one therapeutic programme with children, young people and parents that are aimed at supporting positive parenting, supports reflective parenting practices, enhances the parent child relationships, and addresses any behavioural and emotional difficulties.

To role model, support and provide guidance to parents during intervention programmes in meeting the needs of their children.

To promote the rights and responsibilities of parents, children, and young people living in Ballyowen Meadows.

To encourage attendance at school, training centres, medical and clinical appointments.

To take part in the case working process with responsibility for the organisation and upkeep of individual records gathered as part of the assessment process.

To promote the participation of parents, young people and children in decision making on issues that affect their lives at both individual and collective levels as part of the assessment process.

Demonstrate evidence of ability to empathise with parents, young people, children, relatives and colleagues with dignity and respect.

Demonstrate initiative in shift planning and communication which prioritises the needs of children/families and achieves goals set as part of the assessment process.

Demonstrate commitment to achieve quality results and providing a quality service.

Driving is an essential requirement of working personnel.

All employed drivers are required to drive long distances to ensure family contact for the children/families resident in the centre.

Keep adequate medical records and dispense prescribed medicines with meticulous attention and responsibility during the course of duty.

Ensure Child Protection: Follow child protection procedures and act as a designated officer Stay Informed: Keep up to date with current legislation and professional childcare knowledge Professional Development: Engage in ongoing training and development.

Adhere to Policies: Comply with and help develop policies, procedures, and guidelines, ensuring safe professional practice.

Adherence to Health and Safety Standards: Maintain a working knowledge of the H&S standards.

Job Requirements: Hold a CORU-approved Social Care Worker qualification and have applied for CORU registration (evidence required) or Eligible for registration with the Social Care Workers Registration Board maintained by CORU (evidence required) This is a remarkable opportunity to positively impact the lives of young people and their parents across Ireland.
