We are seeking an Electrical Design Engineerbased in Banbridge to be part of our growing team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the design and engineering of electrical systems on major Design & Build projects, contributing to the delivery of technically excellent, compliant, cost-effective, and sustainable electrical designs.
They will work closely with senior engineers and multidisciplinary teams and contribute to maintaining design integrity throughout all project phases.
| KEY RESPONSIBILITIES | Support project delivery from concept to construction, including technical design reports, calculations, schematics, specifications, and schedules.
Assist the team in delivering high-quality, cost-effective, and sustainable electrical solutions that meet client expectations and comply with British Standards, building regulations, and environmental frameworks (Part L, BREEAM, LEED) contractual obligations.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams - mechanical, BIM, and external contractors - to produce coordinated MEP designs.
Participate in design team meetings, technical workshops, and contribute to the preparation of key project documents (e.g., Engineering Reports, Basis of Design).
Promote sustainable design practices and advise on low-carbon solutions, regulatory compliance (e.g., Part L, BREEAM, LEED), and emerging technologies.
Support construction teams during project delivery.
| QUALIFICATION | Essential Degree in Building Services Engineering or Electrical Engineering OR NVQ Level 4 / City & Guilds in Electrical Installation or equivalent technical certification.
Desirable Working towards or holding professional membership (e.g., IET, CIBSE, EI, SLL).
| EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE | Essential Basic understanding of M&E systems and relevant sector standards.
Desirable 1-2 years of practical experience working as an Electrical Design Engineer within building services.
Knowledge of engineering analysis and calculation software (e.g., lighting and cable calculations).
Familiarity with UK regulations such as BS7671 (Wiring Regulations).
Working knowledge of Auto CAD for design and coordination tasks.
Familiar with 3 D Modelling and associated software tools.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with solid technical understanding.
