This role offers excellent exposure to payroll operations across multiple industries, with the chance to build long-term client relationships.

About the Job Your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Processing weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payrolls for a wide range of clients Calculating statutory entitlements such as sick pay, maternity/paternity pay, and holiday pay Ensuring RTI (Real Time Information) submissions to HMRC are completed accurately and on time Acting as the first point of contact for client payroll queries, providing guidance on PAYE, NIC, pensions, and salary sacrifice schemes Setting up new client payrolls and maintaining PAYE records Submitting pension contributions and managing auto-enrolment obligations Preparing statutory forms including P45s, P60s, and P11 Ds Reconciling payroll outputs including PAYE, pension, and net wages Updating tax codes and liaising directly with HMRC on client matters Staying up to date with changes in payroll legislation and applying these within the bureau Experience, Skills and Attributes Essential: Previous experience in a payroll bureau or accountancy practice Strong working knowledge of UK payroll regulations and HMRC requirements Proficiency in payroll software (such as Bright Pay, Sage, or Xero Payroll) Excellent accuracy and attention to detail Strong organisational skills with the ability to meet strict deadlines Confident communicator with strong client service skills Desirable: CIPP qualification or working towards it Familiarity with CIS (Construction Industry Scheme) payroll Experience with pensions and employee benefits administration For further information on this opportunity or if you are considering the next step in your career get in touch with Oliver Mairs at Hire IQ in complete confidence.
