Role Overview
Hanover Dublin is looking for a Consultant (Account Manager equivalent) to support the growth of the expanding team.
As a Consultant, you will have an entrepreneurial spirit and desire to develop a career in public affairs and communications. The Consultant will work alongside Hanover Group's award-winning international network of clients, predominantly in the healthcare, technology, financial services, energy and mobility sectors.
The successful candidate will be a keen networker, with a passion for politics, communications, and possess a nuanced understanding of the relationship between business and PR. We work in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment, and our consultants are equally at home in the office, at a pitch, or at a networking event.
As a Consultant at Hanover, you will be instrumental in providing top-tier communications and public affairs services to our valued clients. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that our clients receive the highest quality of day-to-day service, tailored to their unique needs and objectives. This will entail vigilant monitoring of the corporate landscape and tracking industry movements and trends, while staying abreast of the latest political and policy developments, to enable you to offer advice that is informed, insightful, and strategically sound.
Primary Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, timely, and insightful advice to clients across sectors, with a focus on public affairs and policy.
- Monitor political, policy, and media developments to identify opportunities and risks for clients.
- Draft policy briefings, parliamentary questions, media materials, and other communications outputs to the highest standard.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with policymakers, stakeholders, and journalists relevant to client priorities.
- Manage and deliver client events, including Oireachtas engagements, stakeholder roundtables, and press events.
- Support new business development, from research and proposal writing to contributing to pitches.
- Collaborate with colleagues across Hanover's international network to deliver integrated campaigns.
- Ensure rigorous quality control over all outputs, maintaining accuracy, creativity, and alignment with client objectives.
- Experience in public affairs, communications, or policy, ideally within a consultancy, government, or in-house team.
- Strong understanding of the Irish political and policy landscape.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce compelling content.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including working with policymakers and advocacy groups.
- Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to challenges.
- Experience in event management and delivering stakeholder engagement programmes.
In addition to a competitive salary, your core benefits package will include:
- An annual performance-related bonus plus additional bonus potential linked to recruitment, new business and long service
- 25 days' annual leave (plus bank holidays)
- Private healthcare insurance
- A company pension plan, including 5% employer contribution
- Flexible working policies, plus eligibility to apply for a sabbatical after 2 years' service
- The Hanover Academy, which incorporates training, coaching, mentoring to support personal development and career progression across all levels, with a generous training budget
- International secondments as well as the opportunity to collaborate with all offices across the AVENIR GLOBAL's network
- A wellbeing programme, featuring (but not limited to) subsidised gym membership.
