Speech & Language Therapist Senior Grade

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Speech and Language Therapist to join our team. The post is based in CDNT 2 & CDNT 7 (Tallaght & Ballyboden). We are open to recruiting either:

  1. One full-time Senior Speech and Language Therapist (1 WTE) who would split their time between CDNT 2 and CDNT 7, or
  2. Two part-time Senior Speech and Language Therapists (0.5 WTE each), with each therapist dedicated to one team (CDNT 2 or CDNT 7).

Contract Type: Permanent

Contract Hours: 0.5 WTE (17.5 hours) allocated to each CDNT OR 35 hours

Salary Scale: €57,771 to €68,385 pro rata per annum. Salary scales are subject to Long Service Increments (LSI).

Annual Leave Entitlement: 33 days pro rata per annum, and proportionately less for less than 12 months' service.

Overview of the Post

Enable Ireland delivers children's services under the national Progressing Disabilities Services (PDS) model for children and young people with complex needs arising from a disability. As a Lead Agency within this model, Enable Ireland delivers services to children assigned to Children's Disability Network Teams (CDNT) within designated network areas. Services are provided in accordance with legislative and service delivery frameworks and requirements, within the resources allocated.

As a senior member of the interdisciplinary team, the post holder will be responsible for the provision of Speech and Language services, including assessment and intervention to children and adolescents enrolled on the CDNT. Services will be provided across a variety of settings including the clinic, schools, preschools and special schools, children's homes and community settings.

Essential Criteria

i. Be registered, or be eligible for registration, on the Speech Therapists Register maintained by the Speech and Language Therapist Registration Board at CORU )

ii. Have three years full-time (or an aggregate of three years) post-qualification clinical experience

iii. Possess the requisite knowledge and ability for the proper discharge of the duties of the office

iv. Provide proof of statutory registration on the Speech and Language Therapists Register maintained by CORU before a contract of employment can be issued

Annual Registration: practitioners must maintain annual registration with CORU and confirm annual registration to Enable Ireland.

Minimum of 1 year post-qualification experience of working with children with a range of disabilities/developmental delay and their families.

  • Experience in conducting Assessment of Need
  • Experience of working with children aged 0–18 years and their families
  • Experience prescribing and monitoring equipment based on children's needs
  • Full driving licence with access to own transport
Desirable Criteria
  • Experience of interdisciplinary team working
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience working with children with disabilities
  • Experience working with children with Eating, Drinking and Swallowing difficulties
  • Experience working with Augmentative & Alternative Communication (AAC)
