Location: Grand Canal Dock, Dublin 2
Contract: Permanent
Working Model: Hybrid Working Model (two days in the office, three days working remotely in Ireland on a weekly basis. Flexibility to work additional days in the office will be required depending on business demands).

About the Role

This role sits within the Sustainability Team, working closely with various departments to ensure alignment with the company's sustainability objectives and progress toward net zero by 2050. The co-ordinator will focus on tracking performance against sustainability targets, collecting and analysing data, supporting sustainability reporting, and co-ordinating activities that underpin the Climate Transition Plan - a critical short-term priority as the company accelerates its journey to net zero. This role will suit an enthusiastic and driven individual with a passion for sustainability and a strong ability to work in a structured, data-driven environment. We are committed to empowering and supporting our Members to lead the climate transition-protecting what matters today while building a more sustainable and resilient tomorrow and the Sustainability Co-ordinator will play a key role in the delivery of that.

To be successful in the role you will be accountable for:

  • Contributing to the development and advancement of the Climate Transition Plan in collaboration with the Head of Sustainability.
  • Collaborating with and supporting the Underwriting department in identifying, collecting and validating greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions data relevant to insurance activities, a part of the company's net zero strategy.
  • Collaborating with other business departments to understand their ESG data needs and ensure sustainability reporting requirements are integrated into existing processes with minimal operational disruption.
  • Working with business departments to support the development of automated reporting capabilities that enable the sustainability team to access ESG data efficiently, while minimising additional operation impact.
  • Assisting the Underwriting department and other internal departments (such as Claims, and Investments) in identifying and developing specific sustainability KPIs.
  • Preparing sustainability reports, maintaining dashboards, and assisting in tracking progress against key performance indicators (KPIs) and regulatory requirements.
  • Co-Ordinating cross-functional sustainability efforts and developing internal communications to promote awareness and engagement.
  • Organising sustainability events and participate in Industry Forums, together with supporting on our Member's Climate Forums.
  • Research best practices and emerging trends in sustainable insurance, climate risk, and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) investing and benchmark the company's performance against this data.
  • Preparing and delivering sustainability reports and presentations to support compliance with regulatory and voluntary frameworks.
What we're looking for
  • Relevant third-level qualification in Sustainability, Sustainable Finance or a related field.
  • Experience in the field of Sustainability/ESG. Experience in the financial services sector is desirable.
  • Experience in measuring, analysing or reporting greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions associated with the insurance industry would be a key advantage.
  • An understanding of sustainability concepts, sustainability regulations, and compliance requirements in the finance sector would be a key advantage.
  • Familiarity with international sustainability standards, certifications and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Frameworks.
  • Experience in successfully completing sustainability related projects and contributing to business outcomes.
  • Ability to create and follow plans, work with different teams, and solve problems as they arise.
  • Capability to motivate yourself and others, adapt to changes, and foster an environment that supports growth and continuous improvement.
  • A strong interest in sustainability
