The Role
The Site Manager is responsible for the successful day-to-day delivery of roofing and cladding installations on-site, ensuring works progress safely, to quality standards, and in accordance with programme. This role involves full coordination of labour, subcontractors, materials, and documentation, while using systems like Procore to track progress, log issues, and ensure visibility across the wider project team. The Site Manager leads by example in health and safety, work ethic, and attention to detail, and plays a key part in maintaining client and main contractor relationships.
Key Functions & Results AreasProject & Site Management- Plan forthcoming labour requirements and coordinate site activities to meet programme milestones.
- Ensure works are completed on time and in accordance with the agreed scope, drawings, and specification.
- Manage site logistics, sequencing, and daily operations, maintaining close communication with the main contractor and internal teams.
- Supervise all direct and subcontracted site labour, ensuring work output meets quality and budget expectations.
- Control labour levels in line with budgeted costs and track productivity to identify improvements.
- Induct new site personnel and ensure proper onboarding documentation is completed and submitted.
- Record and report relevant site events that may impact the programme or costs to the Project Manager or Contracts Manager.
- Notify management of material requirements early to prevent delays and maintain smooth workflow.
- Keep a detailed Daily Site Diary logging labour numbers, weather conditions, progress, and key events — uploaded to Procore daily.
- Ensure all project records, drawings, QA checklists, photos, and site documentation are regularly updated and stored on Procore.
- Conduct daily briefings and coordination meetings with site teams, updating lookahead plans and progress trackers.
- Collaborate with the commercial and design teams to resolve issues and keep digital records current.
- Promote and maintain high H&S standards across site operations; act as the on-site H&S lead.
- Ensure RAMS are followed, PPE is worn, permits are in place, and working practices are compliant with legislation.
- Instill a culture of safety awareness and intervene where necessary to prevent unsafe conditions.
- Oversee quality of works on site, ensuring compliance with Crown Roofing installation standards.
- Carry out quality checks on materials received to site; reject and report any defective or substandard goods.
- Ensure flashing, air seals, and other details are installed correctly and recorded for QA handover.
- Maintain strong relationships with main contractor personnel and represent the company in a professional manner.
- Set the tone for subcontractors and crew, holding everyone to the same safety, quality, and behavioural standards.
- Carry out any other reasonable duties as required by the company's directors or senior management.
- 5+ years of site experience in roofing and cladding, ideally with team lead or supervisor experience.
- Proven ability to manage trades, enforce programme, and deliver high-quality installations.
- Working knowledge of construction drawings, sequencing, QA processes, and H&S regulations.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail in both site coordination and reporting.
- Proficiency in Procore or similar digital construction platforms.
- Confident communicator with a proactive approach to resolving issues.
- Full driving license and willingness to travel within Ireland and/or Europe.
