As we expand our operations, we seek a highly skilled Director of Purchasing to oversee and optimize our procurement strategy.

Role Summary

The Director of Purchasing will be responsible for developing and managing the company's procurement strategy, ensuring cost efficiency, quality control, and supplier performance. This role is critical in maintaining strong supplier relationships, negotiating favorable contracts, and ensuring the timely delivery of materials and equipment for all projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Procurement Planning: Develop and implement purchasing strategies that align with the company's growth objectives and project needs.
  • Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure the best pricing and quality. Establish and maintain strong supplier relationships.
  • Contract Negotiation: Lead contract negotiations to secure favorable terms, pricing, and service agreements. Mitigate risks and ensure compliance with legal and company standards.
  • Cost Control & Budgeting: Monitor procurement budgets, identify cost-saving opportunities, and ensure procurement processes align with financial goals.
  • Inventory & Supply Chain Management: Oversee material planning, procurement, and delivery schedules to ensure project timelines are met without delays.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that all materials and equipment meet industry standards and project specifications.
  • Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure all procurement activities comply with industry regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor the purchasing team, fostering a high-performance culture focused on efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Market Analysis: Stay updated on market trends, price fluctuations, and emerging materials or technologies to improve purchasing decisions.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in procurement, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within the construction industry.
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience in contract management.
  • Excellent understanding of construction materials, equipment, and supply chain logistics.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, control costs, and drive efficiency improvements.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and decision-making abilities.
