The Mespil Hotel has an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Front Office Manager to join our dynamic Front Office team. This is a pivotal role requiring a highly motivated, proactive, and guest-focused individual. The successful candidate will support the Front Office Manager in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the front desk and overall guest experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Front Office Operations:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the Front Office to ensure efficiency and excellence.
  • Maintain high standards of customer satisfaction at all times.
  • Prepare staff rosters and manage timesheets in the absence of the Front Office Manager.
  • Ensure clear and effective communication within the Front Office and across other departments.
  • Maintain consistent presentation and quality standards across the department.

People Management:
  • Supervise, mentor, and lead the Front Office Team to deliver exceptional service.
  • Coordinate and deliver ongoing training to enhance staff skills and service levels.
  • Assist the Front Office Manager with team performance reviews and development plans.
  • Collaborate with the Front Office Manager and HR Manager to address and resolve team concerns.

Customer Service:
  • Deliver efficient, warm, and professional service to all guests.
  • Uphold the Mespil Hotel's core service standards and brand values.
  • Respond to guest queries and complaints with empathy and professionalism.
  • Foster a positive atmosphere for both guests and colleagues.

Health & Safety:
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental protocols in the hotel.
  • Promptly report any hazards, incidents, accidents, or near misses.
  • Promote safe working practices and ensure team compliance with safety standards.

Other Duties:
  • Participate in relevant training programmes to support personal and professional development.
  • Serve on internal hotel committees as required.
  • Assist with duties across departments as needed.
  • Contribute to the hotel's sustainability initiatives, including reducing waste, conserving energy, and minimising water usage.

Qualifications and Skills:
  • Previous experience in a supervisory or management role in a similar hotel environment.
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage guest complaints with professionalism and tact.
  • Familiarity with health and safety legislation and hotel standards.
  • Proficiency in Opera PMS is essential.
  • High personal grooming and presentation standards.
