Job Title: Process Development Engineer (Staff)

Reports To: Associate Manager

Location: Carrigtwohill, Cork, Ireland

Contract: 23 months Fixed Term

Position Summary

Independently determines and develops approaches to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity. Uses latest engineering techniques to reduce product time to market whilst adhering to regulatory requirements, project deadlines, and product costs. Builds productive internal and external relationships and may provide guidance and training to team members.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide engineering support for new product and process introductions, ensuring documentation aligns with Stryker procedures.
  2. Ensure process and product quality according to specifications.
  3. Select components and equipment based on specifications, reliability, and regulatory requirements; develop testing and inspection protocols with quality engineers.
  4. Lead/support capital acquisition activities, including equipment specification, negotiation, installation, and validation.
  5. Analyse equipment to establish operating data, conduct tests, and lead process review meetings.
  6. Participate in PFMEA, Control Plan, SOP, and PPAP related to product transfers and launches.
  7. Complete capability studies and generate inspection documentation.
  8. Conduct MSA studies for new products and processes.
  9. Provide training to manufacturing team members.
  10. Ensure adherence to GMP and safety procedures.
  11. Review and approve validation documentation.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills
  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related field with 4+ years of experience.
Preferred Skills
  • Proven team-based work experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Innovative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience with manufacturing/design technical issues, design for manufacturing, statistical tools, and validation techniques.
  • Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and design.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
  • Experience in validation activities.
