Our Hotel

The Hoban Hotel has been revitalised following a near €1 million investment. Formerly known as the Aspect Hotel Kilkenny, the hotel is now named after James Hoban, a pioneering architect who was born in Kilkenny in 1755. It has become a contemporary open plan space which is smart and comfortable. Our 1801 Restaurant offers a breakfast buffet, brunch, and lunch with a focus on fresh, locally sourced produce.

Your New Role

The successful candidate will be provided with on-the-job training. Previous hotel reception experience is advantageous but not essential. The ideal candidate will possess excellent customer service skills, be reliable, organized, and a good team player.

Some duties will include:

  1. Welcoming guests to the property, providing effective check-in and check-out, and operating the switchboard when required.
  2. Anticipating guest needs and ensuring service exceeds expectations.
  3. Managing telephone and email inquiries professionally and accurately.
  4. Ensuring bookings are guaranteed and applying no-show/late cancellation charges as appropriate.
  5. Handling guest complaints, queries, and suggestions efficiently.
  6. Using onsite computer systems including Opera and Room cloud channel manager, email, and Microsoft packages.
