Accounts Receivable Assistant at Mespil Hotel

Overview

The Mespil Hotel has an exciting opportunity for an Accounts Receivable Assistant to join our Accounts Team. Reporting to the Accounts Manager, the Accounts Receivable Assistant will assist in debtor control and support the efficient operation of the accounts department.

Responsibilities
  • Debtors: daily checking of sales ledger invoices against reports and reconciling backup; ensure procedures are followed with changes made in line with reservations cancellation policies; handle guest queries; send invoices and statements to clients; credit control; aged debtor reporting; attend debtor's meetings monthly; responsible for telephone and email follow up on late payment accounts; check credit references for new accounts.
  • Cash: prepare cash lodgments on a weekly basis and address any queries; allocate cash receipts weekly and address related queries.
  • Credit Cards: monthly reconciliation of credit cards; ensure that all credit card payments are recorded in the system and investigate/correct discrepancies.
  • Customer Service: provide efficient and friendly service to guests; adhere to Mespil Hotel key standards; handle guest requests and complaints professionally; maintain a positive attitude with guests and colleagues; uphold the Mespil Way – Core Values.
  • Health and Safety: comply with hotel health, safety, and environmental procedures; report hazards, accidents, incidents, and near misses; ensure team adherence to health, safety, and environmental practices.
  • Presentation and Grooming: wear the correct uniform and name badge; maintain high standards of personal hygiene and grooming.
  • Other Duties: attend relevant training courses; serve on hotel committees as required; perform other duties as directed by management; assist in other departments as necessary; contribute to sustainability efforts by reducing waste, improving energy efficiency, and reducing water consumption.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Previous experience in an accounts receivable role within a similar style property.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle complaints and resolve issues professionally.
  • Proficiency in using front office systems and account systems.
