Your Impact. The Sr. Financial Analyst (SFA) will have responsibilities for controllership functions for some of Open Text European entities. The SFA will be an integral part of the accounting cycle, providing support to the Global Finance team, assisting in accounting and financial reporting activities as well as regional requirements for the particular legal entities in the DACH countries (Germany, Austria, Switzerland). The SFA will be a key member of the European finance team, managing traditional controllership responsibilities, in addition to being a significant contributor to the consolidated US GAAP close.

What The Role Offers
  • Performing monthly analytic reviews of the US GAAP close.
  • Performing analytical reviews of period end financial results.
  • Responding to monthly questions from management on the balance sheet and P&L reviews.
  • Reviewing account reconciliations and promoting best practices with Accounting Services to ensure proper accounting and controls are in place.
  • Preparation of local GAAP financial statements.
  • Providing support during statutory audits as part of the year-end review process.
  • Preparation of working schedules for the external auditors.
  • Documenting local country GAAP adjustments.
  • Provides support for new acquisitions and legal entity system migrations. Participate in post-acquisition integration activities. Assist with general ledger migrations.
  • Responsible For Other EMEA Controllership Requirements: Support the tax group in the preparation of the annual tax return, including the preparation of tax information packages for provisions and tax returns. Assisting with commodity and income tax audits. Support our indirect tax teams during VAT audits by providing supporting financial information. Providing local support to the business for matters pertaining to the DACH region. Work closely with the Corporate Accounting team to resolve technical accounting matters and assuring all processes remain efficient and effective.
What You Need To Succeed
  • 5+ years of experience in a finance role, preferably in a technology company.
  • Experience with general Controllership duties listed above.
  • Good knowledge of U.S. GAAP reporting.
  • Good knowledge of local GAAP reporting.
  • German language skills are considered a major asset. Knowledge and application of European VAT regulation considered an asset.
