Position: Sprinkler Contracts Manager – Location: Cork

Responsibilities
  • The Contracts Manager is responsible for delivering the Commercial, Schedule, Quality and Safety of the projects assigned to them in line with the company and client's expectations.
  • Managing all elements in their projects, including project margin management and reporting to senior management. Elements of the role will be completed directly by the Contracts Manager or with their assigned team depending on the scale of the projects and portfolio of work under the Contracts Manager's responsibility.
  • Implementing internal improvement projects tied to the strategic aims of the company.
  • Deliver projects assigned by Senior Management in the Nordics and Europe, oversee all project staff and operations under their remit, ensure adequate resourcing with trained operatives and quality suppliers, and implement group policies and procedures.
  • Report project performance to General Manager and Managing Director; maintain strong customer relations with site visits, progress updates and issue resolution.
  • Review and improve project delivery by leading improvement projects and ensuring on-site practices adhere to safety, quality and schedule requirements.
Contracts Manager duties include
  • Implement the company's Safety, Quality, Schedule and Project Management processes on projects.
  • Oversee site operations to ensure processes are implemented and adhered to.
  • Monitor and control project budgets/margins with Senior Management on a monthly basis.
  • Ensure contracts are mobilised and planned with a budget and a clear scope communicated to Supervisors and Operatives.
  • Maintain on-site practices with a culture of 'right first time' in Safety and Quality; verify QA checks and sign-offs on site.
  • Support Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) by preparing safety paperwork and monitoring practices through site walks, toolbox talks, inspections and equipment checks.
  • Maintain site records and substantiation in the job file; ensure progress and variation information is captured for accurate reporting.
  • Foster a highly motivational work environment through active engagement and provide feedback to senior management on standout performance and issues as they arise.
Requirements and Skills
  • Capable in planning and project budgeting.
  • Knowledge of Project Management processes and functions (Finance, HR, Procurement, Design, Site operations, etc.).
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • High performing organizational and leadership skills.
  • Problem-solving aptitude.
  • 5+ years' experience in the Fire Protection Design & build businesses.
  • Relevant qualifications in Project and Construction Programme Management.
