Title and Summary
We are seeking a dynamic & experienced Senior Network Security Engineer (Checkpoint) to join our Network Engineering team. The role involves implementing, securing, and supporting large, multi-site, multi-vendor network environments.
Major Responsibilities:
- Manage and implement medium to complex networks across multiple domains using industry-leading technologies and platforms.
- Collaborate with design and platform teams to implement network designs per requirements, including re-architecting network segments for new needs, technologies, and growth.
- Effectively triage and resolve network issues.
- Communicate clearly, demonstrate accountability, and pay attention to detail.
- Support regional projects, including planning, scheduling, and execution.
- Automate processes and tasks to improve efficiency.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Math, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Industry certifications (Cisco, Checkpoint, Arista, etc.) are desirable but not mandatory.
Knowledge & Experience:
- At least 5 years of IT experience in network engineering and operations.
- Experience with network automation/scripting (Python, Ansible).
- Hands-on experience managing and deploying medium to large-scale networks (Cisco, Palo Alto, Aruba, Arista, Checkpoint).
- Knowledge of project management methodologies.
- Strong skills in network diagnostics, BGP, VPN, DMVPN, MPLS, SD-WAN.
- Understanding of network architecture trends (Traditional, Cloud, Spine/Leaf, segmentation).
- Experience with firewalls and security methods.
- Ability to create and maintain detailed process documentation.
Skills & Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-motivated with good listening skills.
- Willingness to learn new technologies.
- Team player and capable of working independently.
- Ability to work with limited supervision, with work reviewed for strategy and direction.
Working Conditions:
- Occasional travel within the country.
- Availability for occasional weekend or night work for planned activities.
