Overview

Job Title: Senior Engineer – Suncontractor (Data Centres)

Location: Co. Meath (with travel to data centre project sites across Dublin)

Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Engineer to join our team, specialising in industrial chimneys and flues within HVAC systems for mission-critical data centre projects across Dublin. Based in Meade, you will lead the design, coordination, installation, and commissioning of flue and exhaust systems, ensuring compliance with technical standards, client requirements, and safety regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the engineering design and technical delivery of industrial chimney and flue systems for HVAC applications in large-scale data centres.
  • Manage project lifecycle phases including feasibility, design development, procurement support, installation, testing, and commissioning.
  • Coordinate closely with project managers, site supervisors, contractors, and clients to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Oversee compliance with industry standards, environmental regulations, and health & safety requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and site teams.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve engineering challenges on-site, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality outcomes.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement in design practices, installation methods, and energy efficiency measures.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 7+ years' experience in HVAC or mechanical engineering, with a strong focus on industrial flue/chimney systems.
  • Proven track record working on large-scale construction or data centre projects.
  • Strong knowledge of ventilation, exhaust systems, and fluid dynamics.
  • Familiarity with Irish building regulations, international HVAC standards, and safety codes.
  • Excellent project management, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to travel regularly to Dublin project sites.
