Duties and Responsibilities- Coordinating with the client, analysis of all design documentation and identification of any scope gaps
- Developing the electrical plans and specifications for the projects
- Developing the project scope, budget and providing technical submittal
- Analysing customer's Single Line Diagram (SLD), Specification, BOM, Site Layout, Purchase Order, and other documents of the low-voltage distribution system, switchboards (MDB / SDB) and DC systems
- Performing electrical calculations for electrical systems including load calculation, maximum predicted loading of an installation, Arc Flash and Short Circuit, Busbar sizing, busbar trucking, form of separation, degree of protection Busbars compartments, clearance and creepage distances
- Preparing the detailed discrimination study report
- Providing the smallest allowable cross-sectional area of circuit conductors as per IEC 60364
- Providing cable schedule and specification
- Prepare cable route, trench, and ladder layout and calculation
- Performing design tasks including lighting layouts, communications, fire alarm, and security systems
- Prepare and modify equipment detail specifications
- Review/coordinate/verify switchboard configurations
- Preparation of General Arrangement drawing, Single Line Diagram, Panel layouts, Front Views, Bill of Materials and Schematic Drawings for Switchboards / Distribution Box, Enclosure, compartmentation
- Generate take off lists and requisitions for material ordering
- Providing all detailed drawing based on the IEC, UL & CSA standard. Carry out design work to create detailed drawings for design including physical layouts and control/protection schematics as required by the customer or by the internal operations team
- Manage submittals through the approvals process, track procurement and delivery of electrical equipment and complete the receipt verification process once the equipment is delivered
- Sharing & guiding all the relevant technical inputs with the purchasing, construction, and commission team
- Develop procedures and standards for hand-off to Manufacturing operations for operating and maintaining systems to include standard work instructions, compliance control plans, and standard O&M procedures and documentation
- Attend meetings with our project and commercial team including our supply chain and record meetings to ensure that progress is monitored and maintained in line with our overall project timelines with clear communication to all stakeholders
- Review the electrical installation with the operations team to ensure the design is constructible and that there is adequate space for installation and maintenance of all equipment and cabling
- Liaise with the design team & supply chain to ensure the correct operation of the project on-site & successful handover
- Liaise with suppliers on specifications and components
- Comply with all aspects of site safety, environmental rules and complying with all applicable legislations
- Create tender, design, construction and as built drawings to meet project timelines and ensure effective records are retained of design development, status, and record control
- Ensure that technical assessments, variations to the sales file are completed as required and any changes are communicated and resolved without delay
- Liaise with all Enersol and client safety personnel on design information and safety
- All tasks to be aligned with the companies ISO system
- Eligibility to work in Ireland immediately essential
- Industry code understanding and familiarity with IEC standards including IEC 60364, IEC 61439, IEC 61140, 60479 series and IEC 61201
- Familiarity with BS 7671, I.S. 1010, UL 508A, UL 1558
- Proficiency in designing the low-voltage distribution system, switchboards (MDB / SDB) and DC systems
- Experience with CAD design software AutoCAD
- Experience with electrical design software Eplan and Etap
- Proficiency with electrical design software including Siemens SIMARIS, Schneider EcoStruxure, ABB e-Design
- Strong analytical, problem solving, constructive questioning and decision-making ability
- Work with all departments within the company - Sales through to Commissioning
