The role of Plumbing Sales Assistant - Sligo is to provide our customers with a knowledgeable, friendly, and dependable service while optimizing branch sales and gross profit. The role involves promoting the company's products and services professionally and delivering high standards of customer care to existing customers.

Knowledge & Experience

  • Previous experience working in a busy builder's merchant preferred
  • Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales and margin targets
  • Good knowledge of Plumbing and Heating products
  • Previous sales experience is advantageous
  • IT literacy

Key Responsibilities

  • Build effective relationships with customers to understand their requirements and supply the correct products
  • Identify sales opportunities and advise customers to maximize profitable sales and margins
  • Achieve sales and margin targets
  • Maintain a clean and well-merchandised counter area according to company policy
  • Follow company policies when handling sales paperwork
  • Manage re-ordering of selected product lines and maintain stock levels in the Plumbing and Heating department
  • Liaise with suppliers as needed
  • Support the Branch Manager and team to ensure efficient branch operation within company policies
  • Maintain a tidy working environment in line with health and safety guidelines
  • Safeguard against theft by being security conscious
  • Perform additional duties as required by the company
  • Work effectively as part of a team
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and customer-facing skills
  • Communicate effectively in both written and verbal forms
  • Be flexible and willing to learn
  • Enjoy working with people
  • Display tact and diplomacy
  • Be dynamic, motivated, and driven to achieve targets
  • Show excellent organization and attention to detail
