The Client Finance team is responsible for leading a team of finance professionals and establishing a culture of continuous improvement. The role requires a candidate to support and collaborate with members of the Finance Department in delivering a high-calibre service and recording and issuing all Finance transactions relating to Clients that Sedgwick supports.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage client accounts assigned, overseeing financial operations and ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and analyse financial reports and reconciliations for clients, providing insights to support decision-making.
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure seamless financial processes and address client-related financial issues and systems' issues.
  • Maintain and strengthen client relationships by addressing financial inquiries with timely and accurate information.
  • Monitor and manage billing and fee collections related to client accounts.
  • Implement, maintain and improve internal controls to safeguard client funds and ensure data integrity.
  • Stay updated with Sedgwick Group trends, financial regulations, and best practices to ensure compliance and efficiency.
  • Create new client accounts in the system and with banks.
  • Produce, record, and issue payments relating to clients, with insights to support decision-making.
  • Support and guide client-facing staff in financial discussions, ensuring adherence to established protocols to minimize debts.
  • Monitor client payment responsibilities and address concerns sensitively.
  • Present detailed debt and financial reports to the management team regularly.
  • Reconcile and issue monthly client statements/bordereau and perform daily/weekly/monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders on client account queries.
  • Manage stop payments and out-of-date cheques; lodge cheques received; record banking transitions.
  • Manage and reconcile all fees due to Sedgwick; oversee close processes and return of funds to clients.
  • Cross-train in non-assigned accounts to provide cover and assist in Debt Management processes within Finance.
  • Post journals to the Finance accounting system and process foreign currency payments on client accounts.
  • Ensure timely resolution of unresolved client funds issues and engage in Finance Department projects as assigned.
  • Perform ad hoc duties as assigned by Finance Management Team.
Leadership and Management
  • Lead a team of finance professionals and recruit talented individuals.
  • Build positive working relationships with shared service centres and the wider international finance community.
  • Supervise, mentor, and conduct performance evaluations; provide feedback.
  • Collaborate with senior management to develop strategic plans and identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
Financial Operations and Accounting
  • Oversee end-to-end financial operations related to client accounts, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance.
  • Implement and maintain robust accounting processes, including balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure smooth financial processes.
Qualifications/Skills
  • Leaving certificate Accountancy/Business-related 3rd level qualification is desirable but not essential.
  • Prior experience in the Insurance industry/client portfolio role desirable but not essential.
  • Strong reconciliation and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with SUN/SAP accounting systems is preferable but not essential.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
  • Good collaborative skills; ability to establish effective internal and external relationships across services/functions.
  • Calm under pressure with the ability to meet deadlines; flexible work approach; strong MS Excel skills; high attention to detail and numeracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team; proactive and results-driven; willingness to contribute to continuous improvement.
Personal Attributes
  • Proven experience in financial management in a client-focused environment with strong analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel; strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to interpret complex financial data and interact effectively with clients and internal teams.
  • High motivation, enthusiasm, and a collaborative attitude; willingness to work flexible hours.

  • Achieve KPIs related to financial management, reporting accuracy, and debt control.
