Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of older adults to determine their functional abilities and needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aimed at improving the patients' independence and quality of life.
  • Utilize a variety of therapeutic techniques and interventions to enhance physical, cognitive, and emotional well-being.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians, nurses, social workers, and other therapists, to ensure holistic patient care.
  • Educate patients and their families on strategies to manage daily living activities and recommend adaptive equipment as necessary.
  • Monitor and document patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as required.
  • Participate in case conferences and contribute to the development of care plans.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Current CORU registration.
  • Experience in geriatric care.
  • Knowledge of adaptive equipment and assistive technologies for older adults.
  • Full driving license and access to own car is desirable.
  • Resident in Ireland and legal right to work in Ireland without restriction.
  • All candidates will be required to undergo Garda Vetting.
  • International Police Clearance (if lived outside of Ireland for more than 6 months after the age of 16).
