About the role

An opportunity has arisen within the Davy Group's dedicated Capital Markets compliance team for a Senior Associate. This team oversees the trading activities of J&E Davy, a member of the Davy Group, and monitors compliance with relevant legal and regulatory requirements across jurisdictions (Market Abuse Regulation and MiFID/MiFIR) as well as industry best practices.

We seek a proactive, adaptable professional with strong regulatory knowledge, a logical mindset, and the confidence to challenge, implement solutions, and manage tasks independently while collaborating effectively within a team.

Davy's Capital Markets division is a market leader in Irish equities and fixed income trading, delivering top-tier outcomes to corporate and institutional clients through research, execution, and advisory services in equity, debt, and corporate advice.

In this role, the successful candidate will:

• Monitor and analyze trade surveillance alerts, including electronic communications (email, Bloomberg, etc.) and telephone communications.
• Support the firm with obligations under the Market Abuse Regulation, such as insider lists, market soundings, and investment recommendations.
• Assist with compliance regarding Rules of Trading Venues (LSE and Euronext) and the Rules of the Takeover Panel.
• Monitor compliance with MiFID II and MiFIR obligations, including Best Execution, Transaction Reporting, and Trade Reporting.
• Conduct pre- and post-trade checks for staff dealing.
• Provide compliance training as needed.
• Liaise with Central Bank, FCA, Takeover Panel, Euronext, and LSE.
• Analyze new regulations to assess their impact and implement necessary changes.
• Assist management with compliance projects and act as coordinator when required.

Requirements

About you

We are looking for someone with:

• A relevant 3rd level Degree (Business, Finance, Law, or equivalent) and/or audit/legal/compliance qualification.
• At least 3 years of experience in the financial services industry with good regulatory knowledge related to capital markets and/or corporate finance.
• A strong desire to work in compliance, with investigative instincts and experience.
• Understanding of markets and trading is desirable.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• High competence in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and ideally Power BI.
