Regulatory Compliance Operations Specialist, YouTube Trust and Safety

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience in Data Analytics, Trust and Safety, Policy, Cybersecurity, or related fields.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with data analysis and proficiency in spreadsheets and SQL databases.
• Experience in content policy, anti-abuse, online content review, and an understanding of international issues related to online content.
• Ability to grow in ambiguous, fast-moving environments and perform well under pressure, including working with potentially sensitive and graphic content.
• Ability to apply policy effectively to online content, making accurate judgments, with excellent problem-solving skills and effective attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and executives.

Fast-paced, dynamic, and proactive, YouTube's Trust & Safety team is dedicated to making YouTube a safe place for users, viewers, and content creators around the world to create, and express themselves. Whether understanding and solving their online content concerns, navigating within global legal frameworks, or writing and enforcing worldwide policy, the Trust & Safety team is on the frontlines of enhancing the YouTube experience, building internet safety, and protecting free speech in our ever-evolving digital world.

In this role, you will be responsible for managing legal and regulatory escalations and for ensuring the implementation of compliance processes for emerging content regulations. You will be on the front line of our compliance capability development and implementation. You will also be responsible for ensuring that our policies are enforced effectively end-to-end, including from the point of identification of possible violations, to removal and appeals. You will work with cross-functional teams to provide YouTube's response to emerging escalations. You will review graphic, controversial, and sometimes offensive video content in line with YouTube's community guidelines. You may require on-call work at weekends and holidays on a rotational basis.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage policy escalations from legal and compliance teams by driving stakeholder consensus to ensure faster, more efficient issue resolution.
• Review graphic, controversial, and offensive video content to ensure strict adherence to YouTube's Community Guidelines.
• Triage, track, investigate, and resolve all escalations accurately using internal tools and systems. Conduct thorough post-mortems to capture lessons learned, implement preventative solutions, and ensure regular follow-up.
• Coordinate or support the operational implementation of regulations and maintain compliance workflows.
• Collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional teams such as Legal, Product, and GAPP to manage escalations and support regulatory operations.
