Banking Business Development Lead - Part time opportunity

I am looking for a person well connected in the Cork Area seeking to be part of an ambitious, forward-looking and strategic business.

This is initially a PT opportunity, and the candidate must be self-driven, motivated, and proactive, working in the Cork city area, and be responsible for maximizing revenues for the business.

The successful person will be responsible for the strategic initiatives in growing the current business and expanding to new areas via network and on digital/phone channels.

Ideally, you will come from Financial Service Sales and have a creative and strategic business development mindset.

Responsibilities
  1. Work with Management and the wider team to understand, contribute to and ensure the success of the business Strategic Plan.
  2. Work closely with staff to increase customers and lending opportunities within the branches and achieve branch lending targets.
  3. Develop the online and phone presence, including the targeted development of the online offering.
  4. Engage with customers, potential businesses & community leaders with regard to strategic lending opportunities.
  5. Achieve targets for business development in the common bond area.
  6. Develop customer solution strategies that combine the best available products & services.
  7. Work closely with the relevant teams to ensure efficient launch of new or evolving products and constantly evaluate and adjust offerings to ensure the balance of customer solution and risk-conscious revenue generation are optimized on an ongoing basis, remain competitively priced and commercially sustainable.
  8. Evaluate the competitive landscape to ensure the products and services being offered are competitive, reasonably priced and offer value to your customer base.
  9. Support the generation of innovative solutions for customers.
  10. Pro-active telephone, face-to-face or online meetings to generate new prospects, leads and lead follow-up.
  11. Work closely with the lending team to ensure targets are achieved.
  12. Develop customer engagement opportunities from information nights, to seminars, to financial planning information sessions to ensure the business remains connected to its customers, especially as they transition from physical to digital engagements.
Requirements:
  1. Minimum 3 years' experience in a results-driven business development role preferably within financial services or similar environment.
  2. Self-starter with creative ideas, who has enthusiasm and drive.
  3. Results focused, proactive with the ability to adapt to new situations.
  4. Business development and proven sales experience, preferably in a financial services environment.
  5. Knowledge of financial services products and services especially in the areas of personal banking and mortgages is a definite plus.
  6. Ability to assess financial services market developments, devise and interpret customer surveys and develop informed product and services solutions.
  7. A customer-centric focus ensuring that a first-class service is delivered to customers.
  8. Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
  9. IT skills, with strong database analysis and Microsoft Office capabilities.
  10. Excellent administrative, organizational & business support skills.
  11. Ability to multi-task and work calmly under pressure.
  12. Experience in dealing with external providers and representative bodies etc. and use these efficiently to stay up to date with market developments and to provide cost-effective valued solutions to customers.
  13. Ability to work cooperatively with other businesses to share experiences, leverage expertise and drive common goals.
  14. Ensure compliance with all legislation, regulations and guidance including Data Protection and employment law.
