We are partnering with a rapidly scaling organisation in the life sciences sector, based in Cork, to appoint a Head of Operations. This newly created role reflects significant growth in demand for the company's innovative products.

The Head of Operations will provide strategic and day-to-day leadership across procurement, manufacturing, quality control, engineering, and logistics.

The successful candidate will be instrumental in building and embedding the systems, processes, and operational capability needed to deliver against current requirements and support future growth ambitions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and motivate the operations team, across procurement, production, stock management, quality control, engineering and logistics, setting and managing performance targets.
  • Establish and implement the required processes, systems and procedures across production, purchasing, distribution, engineering and supply chain to ensure the delivery of a safe product, meeting customer quality and performance standards.
  • Evaluate operational performance and identify and realise opportunities for improvement in performance, output and cost by gathering, analysing and interpreting appropriate data and metrics.
  • Develop and implement a strategic operational capacity and capability roadmap, in collaboration with the Senior Management Team and Board to deliver on growth ambitions in a controlled fashion.
  • Drive a high performance, results and quality-oriented team culture.
  • Develop and manage the operational budget, optimising the return on financial resources.
  • Ensure a safe and heathy environment for all staff
Key Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Biotechnology, Operations Management, or a related field
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in an operations leadership role within the biotechnology or pharmaceutical manufacturing industry
  • Strong leadership and communications skills with demonstrated success in leading and scaling an operations team in a high-growth environment
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Strong stakeholder management experience
  • The ambition to make a transformational impact in a highly autonomous, dynamic and fast paced work environment
